Welcome to K9 Explorers! We are Leah & Fleur, dedicated to providing your beloved dogs with the exploration and training they need to thrive. Our mission is to enhance skills and build friendships through positive reinforcement training, fostering a deeper bond between you and your furry companions. We ensure every adventure or training session is fun, enriching, and rooted in humane scientifically-backed methods.
Leah is a certified KPA-CTP trainer, recognized for her commitment to humane training methods through the highly respected Karen Pryor Academy. With a passion for rescue dogs, she has been involved in dog rescue most of her adult life including volunteering with the SPCA and fostering numerous puppies and dogs for local rescues. Her journey into understanding dog behavior began with her own rescue dog, Khan (a Pitbull/Husky/Sharpei/ACD mix) whose early challenges taught her the power of positive reinforcement in building trust and communication between dogs and their owners.

Fleur is a beautiful Husky mix who was found as a skinny stray just days away from giving birth to seven puppies, her gentle nature captured the hearts of the pound staff. Thanks to the amazing Vadas Angels rescue team, Fleur was taken in and eventually adopted by Leah's family and K9 Explorers in early 2025. Initially a foster, Fleur quickly became an invaluable member of the team, leading groups of dogs on adventures and helping to socialize and boost the confidence of younger dogs in training.
